Boys and Girls Mini-Sevens Football: Well done to all those who participated in the Mini Sevens Football Competition which took place this week. The boys won one match and the girls got to the semi-finals.

Short Story Competition: Congratulation to 6th class pupil Eve O’Donoghue who won 1st Prize in the Short Story Competition sponsored by Killarney Book Shop.  Eve’s story will be published in the Killarney Advertiser.

Date for you Diary:  On 19th April  we will be  launching our website. Liam O’Connor will be performing at the launch which will also incorporate an open night. Please invite any relatives and friends who may have prospective children for the school.  We will need help to tidy up the school garden and the school area in general.  The Parents’ Association are also organising the serving of teas on the night.

Team Teaching Approach within the school: Our school operates a team teaching approach.  This means that occasionally another member of the teaching staff may work co-operatively with the class teacher either in a whole class setting or with a smaller group within the classroom.  In this school we are very fortunate to have two S.N.A.s who also work discretely and age appropriately in every classroom.

Our Lenten Raffle has been launched.  Proceeds go to support the Loreto School we are twinned with in  Jicamarca in Peru.  Children are asked to bring in suitable prizes e.g. toys, books etc. What you no longer need may be a treasure to someone else.  Tickets cost 25 cent each  €1.00 per strip or 6 strips for €5.

Monday 18th March Bank Holiday : School will be closed.

Easter Holidays: School will close at 12 noon on Friday 22nd March for the Easter holidays and re-open on Monday April 8th

Mark Doe Fundraiser: The Parents’ Association are organising a Cookery Demonstration with chef Mark Doe of “Just Cooking” in school on Thursday 27th June.  Admission €15.  Keep the date free in your diary for a great night.

Enrolments: If you have any family member or know of any child intending to start in Scoil Bhríde, Loreto in September 2013 please ask them to complete an Enrolment Application Form and a Registration Form immediately.

If you have any queries on school related matters do not hesitate to make an appointment to see the class teacher or myself.

Yours sincerely,

Mary O’Sullivan  Principal.
