Dear Parents,
I hope you and your family are well. Here is a reminder of some upcoming events:

Launch of School Website: Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in our hugely successful website launch. A most enjoyable evening was had by all. We hope you all will enjoy browsing the website.

Tuesday 23rd April Football Skills Competition: Loreto will be represented by Peter O’Sullivan Gary O’Connor and David Culloty in the boys’ skills competition. They must be in Dr. Crokes Pitch at 9.45a.m tomorrow. The competition will finish at 11.30a.m. The girls will be represented in the football skills competition by Rachel McCarthy, Kate Stack and Ciara Randles. We do not know the date of this competition yet. Go n-éirí leo. Football training continues every second Monday for senior classes with Vince and every Monday for junior classes with Chris.

Computers: 5th and 6th class are participating in an I.T. pilot programme being offered by Tralee Institute of Technology. The children will receive computer programming training. It involves four sessions of ninety minutes each starting on Tuesday 16th April. These classes are free of charge. The facilitator is Paul Collins.
Elaine Clifford had volunteered to give three sessions of computer classes to all classes in May/June.

Electricity Disruption: We will have no electricity on Monday 29th April from 9.am. to 2.00p.m. Please ensure that your child has a coat in school.

Tuesday 30th April Bio-Diversity Workshop: Gortbrack Organic Farm will give a work-shop in school on the theme of bio-diversity. This will help the school in achieving our next green flag. The Heritage council will part fund this and the school will pay €100 toward the cost. There is no charge for the children.

Recycle and support your local school: We are having a new and used clothing collection on May 8th 2013. We collect new and used clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, ties, linens, household textiles, stuffed toys etc. The school will receive €5.50 per each 10kg bag of clothes and €2.00 per mobile phone. Please place all mobile phones in separate bag. Please leave all bags of clothing in the hall.

Rugby Training: Denis Corridon will be coaching 4th 5th and 6th class on Thursdays. Please wear school tracksuits.

First Holy Communion Choir: We would be delighted if as many children as possible could participate in the choir for the First Holy Communion on Saturday 11th May at 10.30a.m. in Muckross Church. Please drop the children at 10.15a.m. and collect outside the church after Mass.

Engineering Day Tuesday 23rd April: Scott Ziglinski will provide an elementary engineering day in the school. Pupils are asked to pay €2.00 towards the cost of this day. All children will participate.
School will be closed on: Monday 6th May Bank Holiday and on Tuesday 7th May.

Killarney Area Schools Athletics: Killarney Area Schools Athletics will be held in An Ríocht Track Castleisland on Friday 26th at 6p.m.
School will be closed on: Monday 3rd June Bank Holiday and Tuesday 4th June.

Annual Gap Trip: The annual 6th class visit to St. Mary of the Angels and Gap trip will take place on Friday 24th May.
School Tour: The Senior School Tour 4th 5th and 6th class will take place on Friday 7th June.

End of School Year Mass: On Tuesday 25th June our end of year Mass including the 6th class Graduation will take place in the school hall at 11.30a.m.

Mark Doe Fundraiser: The Parents’ Association are organising a Cookery Demonstration with chef Mark Doe of “Just Cooking” in school on Thursday 27th June. Admission €15. Keep the date free in your diary for a great night. Great raffle prizes. Bring your own wine if you wish.

Enrolments: If you have any family member or know of any child intending to start in Scoil Bhríde, Loreto in September 2013 please ask them to complete an Enrolment Application Form and a Registration Form immediately.
